Audiobook Add-On – “Sound & Story”

Price: $300 (Mastering only – client provides audio files)

Audiobook mastering and recording is quite an involved process. The price for this add-on assumes that you have recorded your raw audio files and listened to them and edited them yourself BEFORE you send them to me. In the editing process, you have listened to your recordings while reading along with your book and fixed any missed or mumbled words.
My audiobook mastering work includes removing long spaces between sentences, removing loud breathes and double breathes that happen in your editing (I do not remove all breathes because we want people to know a human and not AI is narrating the book).
The mastering will also include running a high pass filter on the overall recordings, toning down hissy S and SH sounds, removing most of the mouth pops and clicks, general noise reduction and setting the standard amount of room tone before and after each chapter reading. I will also set the files to match the peak and minimum RMS per Audible and Spotify standards, as well as matching loudness across all files and delivering .MP3 files with the completed meta information.
Note: audio files must be checked beforehand for quality, missing words or any sentences that are not a match for the text in the book. In rare circumstances, pick-up may be needed and must be done promptly in order to complete project. Additional fees per hour will apply.
